i experienced heavy memory leak on my double booted red hat linux 9.0 box. (kernel 2.4.20 on i386).
Even without doing anything, if you leave the system idle for 1 or 2 hours, you can observe the memory used by system increases dramatically. I have 512 MB of memory installed. Memory usage normally shoots to 390 or 400MB after 2 to 3 hours after system reboot. Sometime, it even started to use the virtual memory. I can't figure out which process leaks the memory, since the system does not display the exact amount of memory to known process or daemons.
Is there anyone who had similar kind of problems?? I appreciated your information.
