can not find new dvd rw drive

戴尔品牌机只有两个IDE岔口，一个接cd drive，另一个接硬盘，买来一个新的DVD RW drive没地方插，只好拔下一个，但电脑却不读新装上的，是否是品牌机的设置问题/如何改？多谢指教。
