ipod touch 完全用不上

I have an ipod touch, but I can't convert any music or movies into a format which I can play on the ipod. I downloaded "Videora ipod converter", but it is not working. My ipod still has the software 2.0. Do I have to update it to 3.0 to make it work? Thank you for your reply.
