netscape problem under solaris

I installed netscape 4.78 under solaris 9 and I have following questions:

1. how to make the font bigger in netscape. I tried set bigger size by preference->apperance->font ...
but it doesn't work.

2. how to read chinese in netscape?

3. when I visited our university's online messaging server, it reports some javascript error and I couldn't read my message at all. How can I fix it? do i need reinstall java. I treid java -version and the version is 1.4.x.x
