can also do it with preference->apperance->langurage.
for the javascript, you should check it, wether java script is enable also for Mail&Newsgroup within Preference->extend -> scripts &plugins.
The following product of netscape is mozilla. you can install it in you home directory with typing "mozilla", if it is present on the server. If not, you can also download it and install locally in you home.
