from start->select "Run", enter "cmd" to open command window, enter ipconfig, to find the IP (connect your computer to the modem, without router), then you can test by:

ftp the_ip_address_you_seen_from_above

ftp>username:
ftp>password:
do whatever you want ...
ftp>bye
