Thanks very much to all of you for your suggestions. Yes, I might have gone too far. There must be a better way to negotiate. Lessons learned!!! The recruiter did not tell me how I should proceed and what the hiring process is. He only complained after the damage had been done. Too late! If I thought it over and over again, I should have not taken such an action. Anyway, that wa a week ago. Today I'd like to share something good. I simply did not give up, having tried to explain my position on the offer to the hiring manager like: I was not asking for all of the improvements (6 terms); They don't have to meet all of my demands... Yesterday, the hiring manage's boss (he also interviewed me) called me and addressed his concerns. I tried my best to clarify my position and showed my strong interest in the job. He then let me wait a day or 2 (i.e., till tomorrow). My impression was that the hiring manager still likes to hire me, but he needs his boss to support him without conservation. Hope this is the case and will hear from him tomorrow. This time I'll likely accept the offer once he calls me. Stay tuned. Thanks again.
