H-1B visa

I started the current job 2 months ago, and now I have to quit without any new job offer. My question is: If the current H-1B visa is still working till I get the next job or I have to tranfer to H-4 visa? Is this H-1B visa helpful for the next H-1B application?Thanks a lot.
