I am not Tianshui 18. I am just a beginner to start a long process to be a doctor here in USA.
One thing for sure is that I just took the USMLE step 1 this June and I got a score as 220/89. If you want to bet, I can show you my score.
I am in the one of the very hot clinical department doing research in one of the best universities. There are so many applicants to apply for a residency in our department every year. For these years, only M.D./Ph.D.s can get into our department. The reason is simple, easier than most other specieties to make money and easy life style.
For the guy who got his first job making around $600,000 the first year, that is unusual for the doctors in this field too. That is the reason I eard this story in the lab. My boss was surprised to hear it and told us about it. I think he was shocked too because most starting up salary for them is around $180,000. But that guy got a job in the middle of Tennessee, no other residents from our unviersity want to go there. Most of residents from our department choose the jobs in California, even though they make less money there.
For the guy who is making $800,000 a year. I believe that is true. He is a very busy surgeon in a good speciety that most Chinese can not get into. And he is probably more than 60 years old.
The more I read about the replies from Tianshui 18, the more I believe in him. It is so hard for a guy who is not a doctor to write those replies.
