Hello there. Thank you so much for your precious information. But I really wish to know if the student in US still has the chance of getting in clinical career. I got my bachelor and master of medicine in China and then came to US for PhD study without any interval for clinical work in China. Although our current school is affiliated with a very famous hospital, my department is a little isolated and there is no MD in our campus. I am working on the research about cancer biology but can not find the chance of getting touch with clinical doctors. From your opinion, does it mean that my chance to be a doctor is very little, bcause I won't have any recommendation letter from US MD, neither I have clinical experience? In fact, my dream is to be a great pathologist and I don't if it also means I won't have much hope on this subspeciality.
Now it is time for me to make a decision if I should go the clinical way, although I have studied a lot for step1. Several people told me that the applicants like me are hard to pursue this way. When I get graduated, I will also have left medical school for 8 years (including my 3 years of master degree study in China, the speciality is internal medicine though). Everything comes to me and all seem to depress me lot. I feel so frustrated and urgently need wise suggestions from inners, especially encouragement. So here I really would very much like to get any words from you on that and thank you so much in advance.
