way is to make friends with him. If he is a real jerk or he does not like you (I think it's the case here), there is nothing you can do about it. I think you need to take it easy. Do the best you can. Like your example, if everyone else is in a meeting, just wait until other people are available to help. It's just work. It does not worth you to take it personally.
