it all depends

it all depends on the classes offered in that major

this major may be offered in Library science/B-school. usually those classes won't cover too much tech part, just introduce some concepts in IT fields, a lot of professors just do research in such fields. so for graduates from such major, if that person has strong oral/written communication skills , that will be a plus. It will be super hard to  look for a tech job with such degree with poor english skills
