求助兼呼叫美国老土 - 中年大妈职业方向建议

背景：
 
有IndustrialEngineering 的硕士学位，修过计算机的一些编程和database课，在学校做RA时用SAS 做programming 和data analysis，

现状： 
 
毕业 7年没工作，没有绿卡， 中年有一八岁小孩，住在小镇，正在离婚；

求助：

已在职场的前辈们能否告知， 多大的可能可以用原来的学位和经验找到工作，需要H1支持？ 其实一直在找，但还没有任何结果；

对老土的课有兴趣，但不能决定选哪个方向 ， SAS programming 或 BI，主要取决于哪个方向有更多的机会得到H1 支持？
