Title Principal Engineer, FPGA Design

Emcore Corporation Fiber Division has an immediate need for a Principal Engr, for FPGA Design.
This position can be located in Irvine or Alhambra, CA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• As a core member of the video R&D team, responsible to develop cutting edge video products.
• FPGA design and development of both new product design and legacy product maintenance.
• Schematic capture for high-speed digital circuit boards. Bring-up and debug boards and multi-board systems
• Coordination and leadership to drive multidisciplinary projects to completion from concept to product.
Requirements MINIMUM EDUCATION:
• BSEE Required
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
• MSEE preferred
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
• Five (5)+ years experience with FPGA design flow and tools (Synthesis, timing, place, route, debugging etc)
• Strong Verilog design skills.
• Expertise in simulation, verification, and scripting.
• Hand on experience on FPGA embedded processors.
• Experiences with some of Serdes, XAUI, GigE, PCIe, USB, DDR2/3, AES, MPEG-2 TS, MPEG-2, H.264/MPEG4, HDMI, HDCP, DVB, IP/UDP/RTP etc
• Excellent teamwork; must work with cross functional teams.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
