I will look for long term networking with my boss.
1. what if they don't have any opening right now, but might have in the future?
2. your boss might have friends or colleague who might have opening?
3. why not to see if you can add your boss at linkedin or send an email to ask if he has linkedin
4. There are many ways of letting him know that you are looking for a position
