If you are passed for one promotion, you are basically out.  At your current situation, you are against your current boss and his boss.  They are just using your as workbees, and you do not have future in this group.

Any possiblity to transfer to another group?  At sametime, polish your linkedin profile, get your resume ready, and start looking for new opportunities now. 

My hu*****and was in a similar position that he was being treated as a workbee and his newly promoted boss is an ***** and control-freak.  It took him several months to find another job which ended with family relocation to a different state.  But we are much happier now.
