Remember a motivational poster I saw many years ago:

"A turn in the road is not the end of the road - unless one fails to make the turn". 

You, with one-track-mind, refused to make the turn on the way up the hill, insisting go straight line....  Well, I have to say you are a courageous person, but the road ahead will be very bumpy, hoping it is not a free fall....

Bring your case to the court, it will be your words against his words, there is no solid evidence.
