should I call or write a letter

I just had an interview last Friday, the hiring manager gave me his business card told me to call him if i have any questions. Should I give him a call or just write a thank you letter? I went though a agent, the agent told me the company agreed to give him the decision by this wednesday, and he told me no need to call, but to email thank you notes is fine. since it passed a few days already, should I email or call?

Appreicate if you can share your experience.
