POSITION: Senior Chinese Language Software Engineer – Java

Key Skills: Java, J2EE, SQL, JMS, XML, OOP, Web, e-commerce


RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Chinese Language Software Engineer designs, and develops high performance, distributed, state-of-the-art software using Java and SQL with a specific focus on supporting our operations in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Take your vision full-cycle, from rapid prototyping through iterative design and development, and create innovative features for our technology platform and e-commerce shopping environment.

1. Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other members of the project team in agile development, including requirements specification, feasibility analysis, testing requirements, and deployment.
2. Re-factor and improve existing technology and build others from scratch with high quality, elegant JAVA code.
3. Design related database schema and work with the DBAs to deploy and tune.
4. Provide troubleshooting support for production systems.
5. Meet project milestones according to the project plans.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
• Java (J2EE) programming development experience.
• Experience working with relational databases.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Desire and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing, dynamic environment.
• Fluent in Chinese
• Experience working with large Chinese language data sets.

Preferred
• Experience with SQL Server.
• Working knowledge of JMS.
• XML processing (JAXP, JDOM) experience a plus.
• Knowledge and experience with HTTP and TCP/IP.
• Experience of computational linguistics


Location: Monterey CA – will pay relocation to area
Salary Range: $100-140k
Duration: Perm position
