我从来没有给辞职的人counter offer，因为我觉得一旦你有辞职的念头，一定是对现在的工作有这样那样的不满，所以才会look for another job. 很多时候不全是money related, so counter offer does not help much in the long run.

不过不是所有的老板都这么想. It depends. Just want to give you some perspective.

另外，建议你重新考虑the new offer, you've got to have a good reason to say no to a 40 percent raise. Being too comfortable with your current job is not a good one.
