Don't be afraid of discussing anything relative to your work, but only limited to how to improve your productivity and efficiency.

First, let your big boss know what you have done for this company, be passionate and proud of your contribution.

Secondly, tell him that you could have contributed more if your supervisor does this or communicates more effectively with you.

Lastly, be flexible and open.
