your mistake was that you hid

everything inside you. You should have complained to the so-called team leader that you couldn't see much work has been assigned to you and it was just a waste of company resources. Your input to the project got turned down instantly all the time without being considered. Don't be afraid of confrontation. You have to attach right back without hesitation otherwise they'll be used to treat you like crap.
