关于Reference

我现在面试的两家公司都要求我提供reference。我提供了我原来的一个下属和同事还有我现在的一个同事的联系方式，但是HR经理说我必须要提供我原来的老板的联系方式。我现在只能联系到一个原来的老板，我该怎么办呢？请大家指教！谢谢！
