Is it a good idea for both to work for a small company

My wife got an offer from a small company in West, which is far from my working place.

I'm thinking to move with her to the same company now. Although my current company is very good and stable, by considering family and our son, I still wish to move to that same company.

Do you guys think it's a good idea to do so? My wife strongly opposed that but I think it's OK.
