Disagree. It is almost a waste of time to write a thank you let

1: This will give people a false impression that you are dying for this job, thus underselling yourself.

2: If a company wants you badly, they will almost extend you an offer right away.

 

However, you should at least show some interest during the interview. Move onto the next interview right after you finish the current one.
