Shall I ask?

At the new work for two weeks.  The commute is at least 30 min longer each way.  Last nigh almost take an hour to get home.  When HR interviewed me, they said based on my distance I have the options to have some days work from home.  What I colleagues here told me I will have premission to work from home after 6 month employment, but may get special approve based on my distance. The team members all have at least two days WFH.

Shall I ask my manager for a favor to work from home a couple of days or shall I wait for 6 month?  I feel I am very tired try to beat the time to get to work and home.
