As we discussed in the tele-conference: In many companies, Manager will send small gift to her/his team memebers to thanks their hard work of the year, team member do not need send anything to manager.

However, for the managers who gave you many kind helps in the past, it is a good chance to send some thing to show your appreciation. A bottle of red wine is good enough.

Anyway, send a small gift will not hurt you. Even the boss saying: You do not have to do it.
