I ahve the same problem. My boss and big boss do nto like me but somehow a few CXO and VPs from other departments and some sr leaders in my own unit i.e. same level as big boss, appreciate my work more. and it is almost out of control. At a recent meeting, a top tier CXO came to talk to me. we chatted a bit. I did not think much about it. But the next day, he publicly gave extremely nice remarks about my work, in front of all the top people from different areas. He also forced the VC guy to make official contact with me for funding and told the guy that I have his full support. luckily my boss and big boss were not there. If they were there, they might kill me right on the spot. But how can one avoid things like this. I did nto initiate it and I can't just be cold to him or walk away. Waht I did later was sending the finance gig email and praise my group and in particular big boss to try to soften this issue and do damage control but it is pretty hard. If they ignored my contribution before, they practically hate me now. Any thoughts?
