我瞎说说。。。

我不是做product manager的，但我觉得这个职位要求很强的research能力，要求对你专业的产品的市场动向了如指掌才行吧。一个产品一般只有一个PM, 所以这个职位很关键啊。

这个工作的最基本要求就是keep your knowledge up to date all the time吧

胡想的：Google, read industry news/magazines/blogs/books, start your own blog, submit articles to conferences, etc, etc.
