We have a new director, an indian woman.
She said to me "your job is to entertain your boss. you have to make sure your boss is happy ... ".
I personally think it is correct that I have to ensure my boss is happy, but should I have no boundary? for example, it is my birthday, I am not on call, so I have a date with my friend. My boss told me around noon to do a PRD fix after 6 pm. Is this reasonable? Should I still think I need to entertain my boss regardless my own schedule?
I also think I am an engineer, I sell my skills to earn money. Why I have to "entertain" my boss? I really hate this word.
I really want hear HR ppl to talk about this.
