advice needed for being contractor for former employer

I got a new job and sent resignation letter to my current employer,but my current employer want me to work as a contractor to wrap up the projects I have been working after I leave, they want me to keep my key and badge and return them after I am done with the projects.
Is there any advice for doing contractor job for former employer after staring new job?
