Thanks for your message.
I am not a Patent expert.
However, I am sure you should get payed for whatever work you will do for the company, including prepare the Patent documents.
Just estimate how much you wan to charge, say $80/hr. Then estimate how many hours you will work on the project.
Then, email to the lawyer of the company, ask them send you a Purchase Order first for the work they asked you to do and for the $$ you asked. (Google Purchase Order, you will find many).
After get the Purchase, do the work.
After finish the work, send them a Invoice for the dollar amount they should pay you. (Microsft Word 2007 has many Invoice samples, or google will get many sample.)

我最近被公司laidoff， 公司一次性paid me a lum sum。 现在应该说与公司并无瓜葛。但是我先前是一些专利的作者， 这些专利正在申请过程中。公司的律师寄来一些表格要求填写。另外可能还有一些专利我需要参与写作因为是我提出最初的idea。 我不知可否提出要求报酬。这是否合理？我在离开公司的时候签的文件未包括有关专利的内容。
