第一次拒绝offer,请教XDJM个问题.

口头答应了offer但没在offer letter上签字. 前天给hiring manager发了一个不formal的email,告诉他不去了. 这样是不是就行了, 还是需要formal的letter. 这个offer是通过recruiter得到的, 但从口头答应之后就没和她联系过, 我还要告诉该recruiter吗? 多谢了.
