There are two types of power in business world: one is visible, and the other is invisible.

Your coworker has invisible power since 1) she has upward mobility, and 2) she talks well/more in public.
therefore, she is more influential than most of others.

The strategies you might use to handle this are:
1) you need prepare your work thorughly, and be ready to all possible questions.

2) check if you can build up your allies (form a clique) who support each other.

3) Be assertive when you answer challenges since it is your project and you know it much better than any one else.
