Our hospital is considering hiring a part-time Chief Medical Officer. The key performance metrics would be:

1. Actively participates in Quality Management and Case Management processes that impact the organization’s core measures, length of stay, RAC issues, etc.
2. Oversees peer review and is responsible for Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) processes to meet Joint Commission standards.
3. Serves as a liaison between the medical staff and the hospital and patients.
4. Provides leadership and support to the organized medical staff regarding the effectiveness of its organization, bylaws, and rules and regulations.
5. Provides leadership and actively participates in the organization’s development of the electronic medical record module of Meditech that encompasses physician ordering and documentation.
