They will check all employment history and univ/college/institute from where you obtained degrees, if you provided their related information.

Recently, the Background check company tried to check all my record in USA and UK and China university as well, and asked me to provide contact information and details when they failed to contact.

I also received a copy of backgroud check report when they finished the processings.
