Its very unfortunate that it’s a 6 week wait because xxx have come back saying the longest they can wait is 4 weeks.

The most unfortunate thing is that it’s illegal to actually hold back annual leave, irrespective of the contract – you only need to speak to the dept of Fair Trading about that to confirm

xxx would be willing to pay you $4 000 more in base salary that would cover that 2 weeks holiday pay anyhow, if that was something you would like to consider.

I know you feel somewhat obliged at the moment but xxx would like to offer you a permanent opportunity with a higher base salary and a great deal more opportunity from a career perspective going forward. xxx have a much larger business, larger dev team using more commercially valuable technologies – this means that you will bet more exposure to new technologies, more opportunities to grow in a business, better opportunity to grow with salary and global technology projects.
