Lots of fund managers on buy side or Vp in Ibank are ass*holes. All they see is $*$ in front of their book.
Try to get what he want and make no errors, he usually has no time to complain you. It may not be true on a bad year, which you may find he is never pleased by you.

Some mutual fund offer better career path, but not in hedgefund. HF people are those trying to make tons of money in good years and go to beach or casino/strip club. In bad years, they blow up customers' money and either gone by themselves or fired. However most of them can be found in another fund repeating what they have done.

Understand this, you will feel better.
Get your experience or $$$ and move on, have your own book somewhere else and fuvk up you associates.
