hiring company question

All:

I am currently out of job. How should I answer those email question from hiring company HR person? Thanks for your input:

1.are you currently working for xxx If not, why did you leave?

Ans: no. I was laid off due to lack of work.

2. Can you forward a Salary history?

Should I say real number or wait to discuss when they offer the interview?
