I started my current contractor job starting August of last year(2009), around november of last year, I talked to my boss about the possibility
to convert me to full time,he promised he would make sure i convert to full time but that can not happen immediately due to some budgeting/resourcing reorganization process which would happen JAN, 2010, my contract should have ended December of last year, then they extend my contract to Narch of this year (2010), saying this would buy them more time to prepare me with the on boarding process.
Interesting thing is recently I got a recruiter calling me with a new opportunity , unfortunately this recruter is from the same agency who hooked me up with the current opportunity , so obviously thing didn't go any further ...couple minutes after the call,..the recruter who introduced me to the current contractor job called me and said :" hi i know my coworker xx just contacted you for a new position ...I just contacted our client at xxx (the company I am working now), and they would
definately bring you on full time when your current contract ends which is March. There is a policy that they can't let you know more detail before the contract ends"
it sounds like crap to me..isn't it? I have never heard of that type policy in a company saying that you can't let a contractor know the detail of potential full time conversion before the contract ends
what's your thoughts on that?
thanks
what is your thought on this ?
