短期做contract 之后还能领unemployment insurance 吗

我现在是laid off所以可以领unemployment insurance.如果去做了几个月的contract,我的unemployment insurance 还能领吗？需要contract 的公司出具什么document吗？要是能continue claim unemployment insurance的话，是按什么工资领呢，previous permanant job 还是the most recent contracting hourly rate?
