帮朋友请教去留问题----急！请好心朋友指教

朋友是国内学光学物理博士日本东京大学博士后。博士后毕业在日本工作了几年，现在美国一大学基础物理做研究工作刚一年。

现在他在回国和留美之间犹豫。现与国内的院校已联系好工作，但又留恋美国。留美国的问题是现在这份工作不能永远干下去，过几年还需要重新找工作。他担心两个问题：

1.光学物理这方面专业就业是否有难度。过几年再找工作他年龄大些会不会是问题。
2.以此专业，申请绿卡的可能性有多大。
