The signal is very clear.
1) Your boss has not enough money for all (he is okay with you if he has enough money).
2) If the other two guys cannot find jobs elsewhere, he will keep them (he likes them).
3) You can be let go (he likes you too but at a lower priority).

Your boss is a decent guy: keeps your face and gives you time to look for a job. You can have him for your reference.
