URADUMBASS, I don't want to make any judgement on you, one thing I would like to say, you should get lost or keep your mouth shut if you can not help other people. Please be nice to each other.

Regarding this fellows issue, If I were him, I would pick up the phone and call them and tell them your situation and let them know you could start work but would like to know if they can defer your start date.
It won't hurt anything.
