If you have strong SQL skills, you can take a look of Oracle DBA. In general, I don't think Oracle DBA is a good choice. You may think of Oracle E-Business Suite (the ERP). I feel this area needs strong business knowledge and normal technical skills which may suitable for "old" IT people.
No offense, but I really don't think IT is a good area for "old" people. For this point, I don't 100% agree with 美国老土. I have a lot trouble working with "old" IT people, senior or junior although I am old too. And unfortunately we are already on this boat, not easy to get off. You want to change to another area? experience, experience, experience............sigh.........
