Not sure which Unix flavor you are talking about,

but normally for the basic stuff at user level, I guess there shouldn't be huge differences. I personally think "UNIX Power Tools (third edition)" can be a very good reference book for serious learners.

As for the very basic commands/usage, there are tons of books there (online or in bookstores) and they have pretty much the same contents for beginners.
