In response to Anet Napolitano, the U.S. homeland security secretary, sparked a diplomatic kerfuffle by suggesting the perpetrators took a Canadian route to the U.S. eight years ago---9/11
Our Government has taken several other steps to tackle crime, including:
- $25 million for Integrated Border Enforcement Teams, which disrupt cross-
border smuggling;
- Arming border officers and hiring 400 new CBSA officers to eliminate
dangerous "work-alone" situations;
- Over 1,000 new RCMP positions
- Legislation,that would help ensure those involved in serious drug crimes
face mandatory jail time.
