Title: Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Carlstadt , NJ

Rate: $80-$100k range depending on experience

Duration: 6 month contract to hire

Job Description:
Our client is seeking a mid-level software engineer who can develop embedded object oriented code for a it's next generation of Avionics Test Equipment. The position will be "contract to hire". This candidate will be responsible for requirements analysis, specification, design, coding, debugging and documentation. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and able to work independently. He/she must be capable of working on multiple tasks and establishing priorities.



Responsibilities:

· The candidate will be responsible for developing an object-based Graphical User Interface for a portable avionics testset using Windows CE on an ARM-9 processor

· The candidate will be responsible for developing Object-based drivers which control and configure underlying RF components.

· Interpret detailed industry specifications and develop object classes to produce the described functionality.

· Participate in formulation of software test plans and conduct design tests. Debug software based on test results and issues identified by other testers.

· Assist in system architecture development, including physical and functional partitioning of subsystems

· Create documentation and manage code to ensure maintainability of the software

· Follow established development guidelines and standards and makes recommendations for improvements.



Position Requirements:



· BS in EE or CS.

· 5+ years of object oriented C/C++ software development experience.

· Thorough knowledge of the Windows CE operating system

· Extensive Experience with the Win32 API.

· Background in Graphical User Interface Design

· Experience designing and implementing systems using an embedded real time operating systems (RTOS)

· Experience using the Microsoft Visual Studio Environment

· Added Plus: Knowledge of Windows CE Board Support Package Design (i.e. WinCE Platform Builder)

· Added Plus: A background in DSP development

· Able to obtain a US Security clearance
