Good explanation. Just need to correct one point. The pre-clinical group is not only testing the safety of the drug before it go to the human testing. Most of clinical supply for phase I to Phase III is also handled by this group. It work with clinical group to make the clinical trial go smoothly. There are a lot of sub functional group under CMC. So, if you never work in this environment, I don't think they will ask you too much detail about it.
