Is it wise to ask raise in this time?

Now it's time for yearly performance evaluation with boss. Mostly likely will get a good grade. In normal year, I deserve a raise based on both my work & years in this company. But the company is not doing well in this economy, just had 2nd wave of layoff a month ago. All these make me wonder if it's wise to ask for a raise? Need your advice, thanks.
